Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager for India, you will be responsible for identifying and onboarding new clients from India’s technology and venture ecosystem who seek to expand globally. The role requires a strong understanding of the Indian innovation landscape, the ability to build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers, and the drive to close deals that enable companies to establish an international footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, engage, and secure new clients from India’s technology and venture ecosystem who are looking to expand into international markets.
- Build relationships with founders, CEOs, CTOs, and senior leaders, understanding their commercial and technical needs.
- Develop and present tailored business proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals.
- Engage with clients post-sale, ensuring seamless delivery and long-term satisfaction.
- Conduct regular outreach through calls, emails, meetings, and participation in industry events.
- Represent the organization at conferences, networking forums, and trade events to build visibility and attract new opportunities.
- Collaborate with international colleagues to share insights, coordinate client work, and drive cross-market synergies.
- Travel across India and occasionally overseas to priority markets for business meetings and client engagement.
- Leverage CRM systems and prospecting tools (Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Crunchbase, Pitchbook, CB Insights) to manage leads and track pipeline.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, market trends, and the VC/PE ecosystem to identify the right companies and people to target.
Requirements
- Native/fluent proficiency in English and Hindi to effectively communicate complex ideas and build trust with clients.
- Minimum 5 years of sales/business development experience in relevant technology sectors such as software, telecoms, renewable energy, automotive, or electronics.
