About The Company
Our client is a clean technology start-up with operations in the distributed energy segment. They generate reliable and cost-effective clean fuels like Biogas, BioCNG, and BioHydrogen. The circular economy approach provides two climate change solutions: clean fuels and organic fertilizers. The innovations include microbial, mechanical, and chemical to offer a modular clean fuel generation. The founding team comprises individuals from Harvard, IITs, and Babson.
About The Role
The Chief Technical Officer will be an executive member of the team. Focused on the infrastructure of biorefineries to generate future competitive advantage including BioCNG, BioHydrogen, and Carbon Capture. The role will require independent thinking using a broad set of business and engineering criteria to drive the early technology development agenda for our client. The successful applicant will deliver technical capabilities and solutions for accelerating and de-risking process technologies to produce low-carbon fuels from agri and other organic residues.
Key Activities
- Develop a deep understanding of the technology pathways to set up the decentralized Biorefineries.
- Define, incorporate, and deliver technical risk mitigation processes, technologies, and operational activities.
- Develop technologies for scalable solutions in carbon capture from clean fuels or Industrial processes.
- Develop technologies for downstream processes for value-added products to improve the plant unit economics.
- Develop a technology roadmap for future opportunities in bioenergy segments utilizing the core capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Explore new, or improved processes from organic wastes to Biogas and Hydrogen pathways including a focus on technology integration and innovation, and techno-economics.
- Pre-treatment, Reactor design/improvement, and technical evaluation of existing technologies meeting the feedstock and sizing objectives.
- Delivery of safe and compliant operations, contributing to the development of an HSSE culture in the low carbon fuels testing and generation.
- Risk mitigation processes for the clean fuels from biorefineries to be fed into its City Gas Distribution (CGD) pipelines.
- Design and lead process development and modeling work.
- Performs a wide range of experiments related to existing bioprocesses.
