This role is responsible for driving technical excellence, safety, and compliance in BESS design and engineering, focusing on innovative and cost-competitive solutions to meet market and customer demands. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in BESS, especially battery technologies, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership and System Development including Technical Documentation, Proposal Development, and Collaboration
- Oversee system-level design for multi-MWh/GWh BESS solutions, incorporating batteries, power conversion, transformers, control hardware, communication systems, auxiliary power, and safety components, ensuring they meet energy storage needs, load profiles, and PV/grid requirements.
- Lead a team of engineers and designers to define design requirements and develop standardized technical solutions that meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Lead the development of comprehensive project proposals, including objectives, scope, methodologies, and deliverables. Prepare and manage product technical information, performance metrics, and limitations.
- Work closely with the commercial business development team to identify market opportunities and design proposals for BESS offerings.
- Perform modelling and simulation of VRFB and Li-ion BESS systems, including financial and cost modelling (e.g., LCOS, LCOE).
- Identify, analyse, and prepare detailed tender documents, including costing, projections, and feasibility assessments as per technical specifications and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all tender requirements and submission deadlines.
- Coordinate and liaise with departments (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Production) to gather necessary information and ensure all aspects of the proposal are accurately covered.
- Develop product manuals, installation guides, and maintenance documentation for customer and internal stakeholder use.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. BE/B.Tech (Electrical & Electronics) is a plus.
