About the Organization

Our client is a globally recognized sustainable materials innovator converting non-recyclable plastics into high-performance recycled boards that replace plywood and timber. The organization operates large-scale manufacturing facilities and serves contractors, builders, and infrastructure projects across India and international markets. Its mission is to drive circular economy adoption in construction while preventing large volumes of plastic waste from reaching landfills.

The client is seeking a General Manager – Operations to own end-to-end operational performance across multiple plants. This is a high-impact leadership role involving plant stabilization, greenfield expansion, process innovation, and cost optimization. The role requires someone who can independently build and scale operations, solve complex manufacturing challenges, and drive consistent performance across a multi-plant setup.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Stabilize, Scale & Optimize Existing Plants

● Quickly understand existing plant operations and stabilize production, processes, and team performance.

● Scale current plants to achieve higher throughput, better efficiency, and improved reliability.

● Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements in processes, machinery, and manpower utilization.

● Continuously optimize plant performance through better systems, reporting, and operational discipline.

2. Plant Expansion & Greenfield Development

● Independently set up new plants in aggressive timelines across multiple regions in India and internationally.

● Lead greenfield or first-of-its-kind plant development including planning, execution, commissioning, stabilization, and scale-up.

● Create strong data-backed mapping to justify plant locations including logistics, market access, cost advantages, manpower availability, and supply chain efficiencies.

● Travel frequently to plant locations including locations 3–4 hours away from major capitals and stay on-site during stabilization phases when required.

3. Multi-Plant Operations Management

● Manage and oversee multiple plants simultaneously while maintaining operational efficiency and consistency.

● Ensure plants consistently meet and exceed production and efficiency targets despite operational constraints.

● Ensure high quality standards and reliable on-time delivery through strong operational planning and monitoring.

● Develop and enforce strong SOPs, operational dashboards, and reporting systems for visibility across plants.
