Our client is committed to building sustainable livelihoods and ecosystems by addressing the strong connection between rural poverty and climate change. As a specialized carbon developer, they leverage expertise in rural livelihoods, smallholder farming, and carbon offsetting to deliver high-integrity carbon credits. Their focus is on restoration (tree planting) and conservation (forest protection)in southeast Asia, with operations centered in Davao, Philippines. These projects aim to benefit the climate, local communities, and biodiversity.

The Investment Analyst role is essential in driving financial strategy and growth. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the position involves fundraising, preparing investment proposals, and evaluating project financing opportunities. Key duties include financial analysis, maintaining financial models, and conducting market research to support strategic planning. Strong financial modeling skills and a passion for climate action are crucial for this role.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Fundraising:
  • Identify potential investors including venture capitalists and private equity firms, and angel investors
  • Prepare detailed investment proposals, pitch decks, and financial models to prospective investors
  • Manage investor relations and communications, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial and operational performance
• Project Financing:
  • Analyze and assess financial viability and risks of new projects
  • Develop and maintain financial models for project evaluation, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning
  • Prepare detailed project financing proposals and business plans for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with legal, tax, and operational teams to ensure alignment and compliance in project financing deals
• Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities
  • Analyze market data to support strategic planning and business development initiatives
  • Prepare market and industry reports for internal use and investor presentations

Educational Qualification

• Must hold one of the following qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Degree from IIT or an MBA from a Tier-1 institution, with experience in a prominent finance role

Work experience and other skills

• 3-5 years of experience in investment analysis, financial analysis, fundraising, or project financing, preferably within an investment bank, consulting or start-up
• Experience in carbon markets would be a huge plus
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely
• Good understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and due diligence processes
