About The Company & Role

Our client is a new-age hardware lab for data infrastructure powered by biomolecules. It’s where molecular biology meets data. We are looking for a lead bioengineer excited to push data encoding into DNA to the next level as well as lead and scale the molecular biology experiments.

You will be responsible for coordinating with the product team to set research direction, planning and overseeing experiments, building a strong molecular biology team, and ensuring experimental data translates into clear decisions for the company.

Responsibilities

Set Direction & Priorities

• Work with the founder to define and maintain a clear biological research roadmap aligned with company goals
• Decide what to work on, what to delay, and what to stop
• Ensure biology efforts support downstream needs (product, commercialization, grants, partnerships)

Plan & Oversee Experiments

• Design and review hypothesis-driven experiments with appropriate controls
• Ensure experiments are structured and implemented efficiently
• Diagnose failures accurately and guide protocol optimization
• Balance speed, rigor, cost, and feasibility in experimental planning

Own Execution Quality

• Translate research goals into clear milestones and timelines
• Align the team to deliver predictable outputs
• Identify risks and constraints early and adjust plans proactively
