About the Role

The Project Director will lead the execution of multiple large-scale HVAC projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and cost-effectiveness. Reporting to the COO, the Project Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of project management, from initial planning and design to execution and handover.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Project Management:

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of all HVAC projects, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, aligning them with customer needs and internal strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

• Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, other function heads, and partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with senior management to communicate project progress, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other external partners to ensure project success.

• Leadership and team development:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team to achieve excellence in all areas of project execution.
  • Build, manage, and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop a second line of leadership within the project teams to support succession planning and business growth.

• Quality Assurance & Risk Management:

  • Implement effective quality control and risk management processes to ensure project success and minimize potential delays or cost overruns.
  • Anticipate project risks, resolve project issues, and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of ongoing projects to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the finance team to manage project budgets, forecast needs, and ensure financial targets are met
  • Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources without compromising on quality.
  • Drive financial performance of projects, including forecasting, invoicing, and ensuring profitability.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the projects.

  The Ideal candidate will have a proven track record with a strong background in project execution. Specific requirements include:

  • 15+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale HVAC projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, energy efficiency, and sustainable design.
  • Proven track record in managing projects with budgets exceeding INR 50 crore.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and working with subcontractors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  Bonus points for

  • Knowledge of international HVAC standards and regulations is an advantage.
